Friends' Blogs

I've been a horrible blogger lately. I could try to catch up, but luckily I have friends who are great bloggers. I'm just going to direct you to their blogs. :) To see pics from our vacation, check out Alicia's blog, or Julie, Emily, or April's. Sorry to be a slacker... :)

Girls' Night

I've been blessed with some incredible ladies in my life - both in America and here in India. Here is a picture of some the ladies that are special to me here in this city. They all came over last weekend for a game night, complete with tacos and taboo (in English and Spanish). It was a fun night with alot of fun ladies!
Miss Photogenic

I've never really been known for my photogenic ability. However, I have come to realize that I actually have some pretty funny facial expressions. lol. Today I was teaching and Alicia snapped some pictures of me and caught me in the act of just being me. Apparently, I'm pretty expressive.

This one is much better.

We had a fun time laughing at these, so I hope you do too!

End of a Season

I've never really been a huge t.v. watcher. However, over the past few months I've gotten into several shows. Most of them I watch on the Internet (www.fanpop.com), so I watch multiple episodes at a time. Something about watching several in a row just makes it more enjoyable. Its been alot of fun. However, this week marks the end of the season for most shows. This week I've watched the season finale of Grey's Anatomy, 24, American Idol, and I finished watching Prison Break. It is sort of sad to be finished with all of them until next season. My room mates had a schedule of when we watched each episode. But that season of my life in now over. :( Its okay though, because there are plenty of shows that I've still never watched. The question is.... What show should I watch next? I would like your imput in this.

Here are a few pictures from the American Idol party we attended. It was alot of fun and I was satisfied with the results.
Speaking of t.v., ocassionaly our cable just cuts out. Oddly though, sometimes when it comes back on, all the chanels have changed. All the chanels changed around today, but several chanels also were added. I've been watching VH1. They just played a New Kids on the Block video.... funny stuff.

Every Day is a Jubilee

Its that time of year again, and its HOT! A question I commonly get asked is, "How's the weather?" Although, it seems milder than last year, the heat has definately arrived. The highs for this week get up to 109 degrees. As I write this it is almost 11 pm and it is still 90 degrees. It is amazing how you do adjust though. Of course, the heat still makes it tough to be out and about these days. This is the best way I can describe the heat:

Every year, in June, in my hometown there is a arts and crafts fair called the Blueberry Jubilee. It is the event of the year in our town and it is a tradition that everyone goes. There is some people that I would only see once a year at the Jubilee. It never fails that Jubilee day ends up on one of the hottest days of the year. The heat is blazing but everyone spends the day out in the sun, shopping, eating, and socializing. By the afternoon, we would head home exhausted by the heat and in serious need of a nap. The heat just wipes you out. That is what it is like everytime I step out of my house. Everytime I get home, I feel like I've been at the Blueberry Jubilee all day. The only thing missing is a good funnel cake. :)

Weekend Outing

This weekend we went for a small holiday with our neighbors. We drove about 5 hours to a neighboring tourist city and went to a tourist village. It is a village set up for tourist, but they did a good job of giving it an authentic feel. They have all types of activities to do including camel rides, elephants rides, ox cart rides, magic shows, jungle walk, and alot of dancing. We spent most of the evening wandering the village and dancing with the local dancers. It was alot of fun, and of course, its always just fun to be with Mona, Sunjay, and Erica. The evening ended with an authentic Indian village meal. We sat on the floor and ate off of plates made from leaves and drank from little clay pots. We spent the night in the city and drove back home today. It was a fast weekend with alot of riding in the car, but it was alot of fun. Unfortunately, our cameras don't take very good pictures at night, but here are some from the weekend. I did get some good video though.
